Our staff are committed to providing quality care and support for young people facing homelessness and their families, and are comprised of a Chief Executive Officer, Administration Support, Program Managers and Case Managers.
Anneliese Cooney, President
Anneliese joined the Board in October 2009 and became Chairperson in 2016. An ex staff member, Anneliese has gone on to develop her skills in other organisations. She holds a psychology degree and as a local is committed to assisting young people on the Northern Beaches.
Sandy Waley, Vice President
Sandy joined the Board in 2014. Sandy has more than 25 years experience as a lawyer, dispute resolution consultant and coach-counsel. She has degrees in Law and Masters of Resolution and is an accredited family mediator, specialising in the welfare and rights of the child and young people in her mediation practice.
Chris Gordon, Secretary
Chris has had over 40 years experience in the construction industry relating to contractual and financial administration as well as dispute resolution. Chris has worked in both the contracting and professional sectors including running professional businesses within Australia. He brings a legal and business expertise to the Board and can assist with most business matters.
Rob van den Blink, Board Member
Joining in 2002, Rob has extensive knowledge and experience within the local council youth services and development area. His experience ensures the Board remains in touch with local issues on a variety of levels.
Rob Doyle, Board Member
Rob joined the Board in 1996. Rob is well established in the community with wide ranging contacts in many sections. His knowledge of housing through working in the Real Estate industry has been of immense benefit to the development and planning of the organisation.
Colin Rockliff, Board Member
Colin joined the Board in 2015. Colin is an adviser and project director in property and infrastructure planning, a director on boards, advisory boards and statutory bodies, an architect and a graduate of Company Directors Course. Board positions held by Colin include not for profit, international corporate boards and he is a member of State and Local Government task forces and advisory committees.
Gill Lawrence, Board Member
Gill joined the Board in April 2017. Gill trained with Price Waterhouse and has held senior finance and company secretarial positions in the social housing, disability and most recently family law sectors. She has an MBA from Durham University and is a graduate member of the AICD. She and her family live on the Northern Beaches and she is delighted with the opportunity to make a difference on her own doorstep.
Eva Bowers, Board Member
Eva Bowers is a Teacher in Community Services at Northern Beaches Campus of TAFE NSW. Eva has spent time working in the Northern Territory as a Lecturer in Social Work at Charles Darwin University. She has worked as a child protection caseworker, specialist and trainer for FaCS in New South Wales. She has extensive experience in workplace training and assessment in child protection, intensive family support services and the community sector. Her practice background also encompasses a role as a specialist family consultant in family law settings. She has worked in treatment clinician services in a corrections setting in the Northern Territory and has contributed to the resource development in the area of domestic and family violence policy reform in NSW. Eva lives on the Northern Beaches and has a keen interest to issues impacting on children and young people locally. Eva joined the board in April 2017.
